1. Overview The Shoot The Face Award is operated by Tiny Design & Co. Pty Ltd (“Organiser”), trading as Shoot The Face. By entering the competition, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility The competition is open worldwide to both amateur and professional photographers aged 18 years and over. By entering, you confirm that all submitted material is your own original work and that you are legally entitled to enter.
3. Entry Fees & Categories
One Frame
A single photographic portrait judged independently. Each entry is evaluated as a standalone image based on its technical quality, emotional impact, and creative merit. Multiple submissions are allowed and judged individually.

- 3 Photos: USD $27
- 7 Photos: USD $37
Photo Essay
A cohesive series of up to 15 portrait images presented as a unified body of work. Entries are judged on the strength of the narrative or conceptual theme, as well as the overall consistency, creativity, and execution across the series.

Multiple entries are permitted. Entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

5. Copyright and Intellectual Property Photographers retain full copyright of their submitted images. By entering, you grant the Organiser a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, publish, and display submitted work solely for the purposes of promoting the competition, showcasing winners, and related archival, marketing, or editorial uses. Images will never be sold or relicensed to third parties. Photographers will be credited where reasonably possible.
6. Judging Process All entries are judged anonymously by an independent panel of photography professionals. Selection is based on beauty, power, originality, technical skill, and emotional impact. This is a skill-based competition; chance plays no role in determining outcomes. The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Judges will be disclosed publicly on the Shoot The Face website. From time to time, partner organisations may be invited to help promote the competition or participate in the judging panel.
7. Prizes Details of prizes, including cash awards, publication, and promotional features, will be published on the Shoot The Face website. Prizes are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash unless otherwise stated.
8. Prohibited Content and Disqualification Entries will be disqualified if they:
- Are AI-generated, plagiarised, or infringe any third-party rights
- Contain unlawful, exploitative, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate content
- Misrepresent authorship or breach eligibility criteria
The Organiser reserves the right to remove or disqualify entries at its sole discretion.
9. Refund Policy All entry fees are final and non-refundable, including disqualification or withdrawal after submission.
10. Limitation of Liability The Organiser will not be liable for:
- Technical failures, submission errors, or data loss
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from entry
- Any third-party claim related to submitted content
By entering, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser from any claims arising from your breach of these terms.
11. Privacy and Data Protection By entering, you consent to the collection and processing of personal data including name, email address, IP address, and image metadata. Force Majeure / Cancellation In the event of cancellation, interruption, or delay caused by events beyond the reasonable control of the Organiser (including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, civil unrest, cyber-attacks, or government restrictions), the Organiser reserves the right to modify or cancel the competition without liability.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
